You can just tell when you meet Julie and Colin that they treat the Dogs as if they were their own children and really spoil them with daily walks and activities.
Julie and Colin constantly update you while you’re away telling you about their progress and activities of the day. I think Julie actually baths them prior to pick up as they were sparkling clean.
A camera keeping a close eye on the sleeping quarters is a nice touch and 5 star accommodations.
The dogs were absolutely exhausted and were sad to leave which is always a good sign they had a great time.
Thanks again for the wonderful care of our pups.

Dog heaven!
Julie and Colin are wonderful people who've created something special here.
Our pup Molly loved her home away from home, which meant we could travel without worrying at all.
She was treated just like a member of their family, it was awesome.

I hesitate to write a recommendation about Julie and Colin’s Camp Yellow Dog because the more people who realize what a perfect haven this is for their four legged family members, the busier they will become!
Ebony (aged 9) and Harvey (aged 5) came under Julie’s wings in 2014. I couldn't have found a “Doggy Walker” or “Sitter” better than Julie.
You always wonder if your pet will be taken care of as well as YOU do when you put their health and safety in the hands of someone else. HAVE NO FEAR ! Julie and Colin treat every pet individually with their needs, quirks, age related difficulties and even when they are rebounding from recent surgery!
Ebony and Harvey and many of Julie’s dogs from North Vancouver became her family. She embraces the joys of accomplishment, the love of life with them, and when they pass on, she grieves and embraces their life.
I have visited Camp Yellow Dog personally. It’s wonderful. Two acres of fenced grass, a little pond with ducks, and the outbuilding is huge and when finished will be well outfitted to Julie’s high standards. Walks are close by and vary in difficulty depending on each dog’s abilities.
Harvey and Ebony LOVE Julie and Colin, and their 4 four legged friends. Who would think dogs and cats all sleep happily together and even cuddle!
Transportation to Vancouver Island has not presented any problems either.
Are there 6 stars to hand out or only 5?

Julie and Colin are wonderful and made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog Tucker with them.
I received emails and postcards from Tucker during the time that I was away.
He had such a wonderful time
at Camp Yellow Dog...I am not sure that he wanted to come home!!

Julie and Colin have been part of the Boyd Family since 2015.
Chloe and Henry absolutely adore their furry family. Julie owned A Walk in the Park Pet Care and that is where I met her and Colin. Their new adventure at Camp Yellow Dog is a fabulous, safe and fun destination for our two dogs. Julie and Colin are both professional while being very warm and welcoming. They run their business and personal life with the utmost integrity, honesty and a true love for animals. Julie and Colin are extremely organized and can care for any pet in any circumstance. They were able to help me with both Chloe and Henry post-surgery and were wonderful with the attention to detail and medications necessary for a healthy recovery. Camp Yellow Dog is the only place my dogs will go to stay. We live on the North Shore and it has been easy to make arrangements for Chloe and Henry to get to and from Camp.

It was so heart warming to see our Zoey trot happily after Colin when we dropped her off. She seemed so relaxed and happy. Julie and Colin, you have no idea how very grateful we are to be able to drop her off knowing without a doubt that she will be not only well cared for but given so much more!!! She always comes back to us happy and content.

I have recently signed my dog Cooper up to be a proud member of the camp crew at Yellow Dog. He has gone to both day camp and also boarded overnight.    He absolutely loves it, coming home exhausted at the end of his day or stay, whichever one I have utilized at the time, given my schedule.   The location is absolutely beautiful and I know he has an amazing time.   I also know he is in good hands with Julie and Colin.  They both have calm, warm energy.  You know they truly love the dogs and spend ample time with them.  They are so professional and engaged with our four legged family members that are in their care.  I cannot say enough about how stress free this is for me - knowing he is in good hands and excited to be with them.

Our 5 month old high energy hunting dog puppy, Jaeger, stayed at Camp Yellow Dog for a week in January 2019 and was not only well cared for but he had a great time. We were concerned about leaving him when we went away as he was so young and we didn’t want him to develop any separation anxiety issues. Our concerns were alleviated the first time Jaeger visited Camp. We will absolutely have him stay at Camp Yellow Dog again and wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone looking for someone to care for their pet.

Animals are the bridge between us and the beauty of all that is natural. They show us what's missing in our lives, and how to love
ourselves more completely and unconditionally. They connect us back to who we are, and to the purpose of why we're here. - Trisha McCagh
